A user led organisation

Empowerment has a very clear and coherent leadership provided by its Board of Trustees and Leadership Team. As an advocacy organisation, Empowerment is also fully committed to empowering people to shape and develop the work we do and how we deliver it. We achieve this by:

Membership: people with lived experience who have used or are using our services are entitled to become a member of Empowerment to have a say in the running of the charity.

Lived Experience Advisory Group: a group of previous users of Empowerment services who work with the Chief Executive and Leadership Team to co-produce current and future services.

Peer Researchers: Identifying unmet need is an essential task as a locally based charity. Our innovative approach involves local people with lived experience being trained and developed to become peer researchers. Therefore it is local people who are shaping and developing Empowerment’s next generation of services to meet the needs of our local communities.

Comment, Compliment and Complain! We positively welcome feedback on our charity and the support we provide, even when it’s negative, because that is the only way we will improve!
