People with dementia and their carers can often feel alone and that nobody really understands the challenges they face.
Going out and engaging with other people can be a stressful and anxious experience, with many preferring the comfort of familiar surroundings and people, which can lead to isolation.
What we do?
The Dementia Friendship and Support Network gives
opportunities for people with dementia to come together and gain emotional and practical support from each other through the sharing of their own knowledge and experiences.
We provide opportunities for people with dementia and their carers to meet each other, make friends and take part in a range of activities such as day trips across the North West, social afternoons and much more.
The service is available to Blackpool residents who have a diagnosis of early stage dementia.
