Counselling Service by Sarah Thornley

There is now the opportunity for you to benefit from Empowerments new therapeutic counselling service delivered in partnership with Blackpool Fulfilling Lives.

If you are a volunteer or receive support from the Lived Experience Team, or Peer 4 U and feel you would benefit from one to one Person Centred Therapy then please speak with your key worker who can confidentially refer you.

This counselling is offered off site from Empowerment. Sessions are held on a Monday and Tuesday, between the hours of 9.30am – 4pm by appointment only at the Claremont First Step Community Centre on Dickson Road, Blackpool FY1 2AP.

Our counsellor Sarah Thornley is a member of the Empowerment staff team and has recently graduated with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. As part of this training her practice included experience working within the local community at Trinity Hospice and Horizon for drug and alcohol recovery, Cruse Bereavement and Lancashire Victim Services with adults suffering Domestic Abuse.

Sarah is an empathic counsellor and works with congruence, respect and non-judgement to support her clients within their journey. To ensure those she supports, Sarah works within the ethical framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), so clients can express their thoughts and feelings during their sessions which are offered privately and confidentially on a one to one basis.
