Empowerment’s amazing, ‘Lived Experience Team’, are people who haved lived experience of multiple complex needs; homelessness, substance misuse, offending behaviour and mental health issues. They are an extraordinary group of people who have beaten the odds and are now using their experiences to bring about system change in Blackpool. Earlier this year, the LET conducted a series of peer research interviews with people who are currently using services to find out what they wanted from services and in particular the people who work for them.
Based on this research, the LET have now produced the, ‘What Matters to Us?’ Charter. This is 10 principles on which they believe all frontline work should be based. The ‘What Matters to Us’ Charter is set out below:
At our recent AGM it was decided that Empowerment would adopt these principles and put them into practice!
